Hi,

I am having problems with my female guppies after they have the fry their bodies are going out of shape. The body of the female is going to about a 45 degree angle and then they die. I take it that it is to much stress on the body whilst having the fry. I have had 5 or 6 go like this, is their anything I can do to stop this and help them. I have been feeding them with dried flake and micro worms. I now have lot's of fry but don't want to loose the adult females.

Thanks.

is there anythink else symptom wise? try this in the emergency section aswell, sorry to hear of your losses

Sorry to hear that, never heard of that happening before.

What size tank do you have?
How many fish and which are in it?
Did you cycle your tank?
What are your stats?
Anything else happening? (swimming upside dow, or on the top of the tank, gasping, etc...)

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. No they don't have any other symptoms as they are very healthy until they have the young. I have 1 plec or (hoover) and only guppies and endler guppies in an approx 60 liters tank. When the fry are a little bigger and stronger I move them into another tank to make space for new one's. I have 12 female and 5 male adults in the tank. As I said I have had a few death's. Just don't like seeing the adults die as they are the one's with all the colour. All tests seem to be ok. One other thing I should have said, I say adult female but they are the first young they have had. Not 100% how old they are as I bought 10 of them.

Thanks Again.
