One of my females is so full of eggs she is starting to look like jacblade's female (the one about to burst).

I have no intention of breeding, so is there anything I can do to ease her discomfort? :dunno:

Will she just drop them eventually? :dunno:

If I take her out of the community tank and into her own bowl, would that help? :dunno:
I'd rather not take her out because I hate taking a betta from a heated tank and putting them in an un-heated tank.

Is it un-healthy for her to be like this for so long (she's been getting bigger over the lasy month or so)? :dunno:

BTW- She is in a well-established, heavily planted, heated 10g community with one other female betta and a few other fish. She gets along fine with the other female.

Thank you. :)

There's no way to fast her in a community.Maybe put her in a breeder and cut back on her food for a few days.

Will she drop the eggs if I fast her and put her in a breeder? :dunno:

maybe find a eager boy to squeze her...then take the male out so the female can just end up eatin them.....
I thought of that, but doesn't the male beat the crap out of the female during breeding? :dunno:

Yes.

She won't drop the eggs just like that but maybe she'll absorb some if you cut back on her intake. Maybe...if you put a male beside her, she'll get excited and drop them, I've had females do that before.

Thanks wuv. :)

I'm going to put her in a breeder net for a little while so I can controll her eating. If that doesn't work, i'll try the male next to her deal.

A few nights ago, I fed all my fish live bloodworms  , and she is quite the little piggy.

fasting mine has helped a little bit but she is still rather fat. i feed her medicated food though because there is often an internal infection when a female is eggbound :(
she doesnt get any freeze dried foods either.

i still cant figure it out :dunno: hopefully fasting willwork for you.
