hey guys, iv had the 10g set up for a ling time now and it looks great, iv had my 1 female betta in there fo about a month and im getting some more females very soon. my current female is very friendly, loves other fish. i had a pleco and a cory in there and when i took them out she was heart broken.

~i want to know how i should add the new females, i dont want a fight or to surprise my current female into a fight.

~how many can i keep in a 10g, im thinking like 5, 2g per fish iv got alot of plants in ther and i may find some pot to put in there to.

~what kind of fish can i put in there for cleaning purposes? corys are to big and they need like 3 to be happy in there. and i just need something to eat off the bottom. would crabs work? i know ghost shrimps wont.

any help is appritiated

The trick to keep them from fighting is to add the new females slowly. They will almost without a doubt have a little quarrel to establish dominance at first, but the aggression should slack off after that. If you have a breeding trap, keeping a new female in there for a few days before introducing her couldn't hurt.
As for bottom feeders... Are khuli loaches happy kept alone? I have ghost shrimp in my tank, but only because I don't mind them being slowly picked off one by one. Great cleanup crew and a snack :shifty:

Edit: Oh yeah... and 4 or 5 females would probably be a good number for a 10 gallon.

4 is the magic number, but in a 10g i'm sure you can fit 5 in a well planted tank

as for cleaners...i wouldn't keep a khuli loach alone, they are very social and need to be in groups to feel secure (usually 4 or 5). Why wouldnt' ghost shrimps work? i have ghost shrimps and they do an excellent job in cleaning.

I wouldn't keep a common pleco in there though, you know they do grow to be huge  for my 25g i just have otos, ghost shrimps and snails as my cleanup..i dotn' think of them really there for cleanup becuase with regular water cahnges ur tank should be pretty clean anyways :) keep in mind that you should never think fo a cleaner fish as a replacement for your water changes :) they poop too! and uusally poop more than others.
