Am thinking of adding 2 or 3 female betta's to my 140 litre community tank , current tank mates :

3 platys (2 female / 1 male)
5 neon tetras
10 female guppies
5 corydoras
4 otto's

my assumption is that they will be fine ?, though being no expert on betta's i thought i would get some advice.

thanks in advance.

i have kept females with female guppies and neons, and it didn't work, they killed them also you would need at least 4 female bettas

usual they will get nipped and chased around for a week or so then they leave her alone i think they prefer being on thier own i had a female in mine for abit and after the first week she loved it

I'd be hesistant w/ the platies in there b/c they will probably be seen by the bettas as other females.
You can try it though, just make sure to have a quick backup plan if things go bad.

We used to have a single female betta in our 28gal tank and everything was fine. She was such a great fish though. Absolutely adored the cories. She would swim and rest with them. She also buddied up with the German Blue Ram. They would swim together as well. Content of that tank at the time, danios, cories, german blue ram. Tryed some male guppies in the tank as well, and I never actually saw her mess with them, but woke up one day to find a big chunk of tail missing from one of them. It could've been the other guppies, but they were taken out of the tank anyway just in case it was her.
