FEMALE BETA BIT OFF CORY CAT EYE

Update on Casper: he’s doing great! It’s still a bit freaky seeing his eyeless side, especially when he’s chilling because he honestly looks like a typical dead fish, but he’s a very energetic fellow and seems to be having no issues getting around and finding food!

Hi @biofish
Your title says it all... unfortunately for the Cory.
Betta aka Siamese fighting fish must live on its own.
A 30 liters tank, cycled, heavily planted including floatings, dimly lit, slow flow, pH 6-7 maximum, GH KH below 7, ammonia nitrites nitrates = zero, high quality food : OmegaOne Betta Buffet alternately with Fluval Betta Bug Bites or OceanNutrition Atison's Betta Pro and she'll be in paradise.

I imagine that the Betta will still be sat in the naughty bowl....possibly sulking (they are rather good at the "sulky face")

Naughty girl is currently in timeout! She’s sitting in my emergency 1.6 gallon tank until I can free up a ten gallon. It’s currently quarantining a few new female guppies that’ll replace Rem on the left side of the main tank but they only need a couple more days.

Her sulk face breaks my heart! I didn’t realize a fish could look at me with such betrayal. She keeps investigating the pebbles. Casper’s eye must’ve been delicious because she looks hungry for more 🤣

edit: I got my taller divider a few days ago and cut it to fit snuggly against the lid. Can’t use the little feeding door anymore but I just lift up the tank lid a bit and sprinkle their food in. Filled the tank up and it’s successfully kept those naughty horny men firmly on their side of the tank! No more sneaky night encounters for them!
