I am trying to feed zuchini to my mollies, and I cannot get them to eat it. They nibble at the pieces, but do not seem to be able to get them down. Right now I am trying to give it to them fresh and thinly shredded. Does it have to be dried, or what?

:/

You could try blanching it, to soften it a little. Just pour boiling water over it, or soak it in boiling water for about 30 seconds.

Or if that doesn't work, maybe they don't like it. You could try another vegetable, like cucumber. :)

When I feed zuchini to my fish I pour boiling water over it untill it softens up, or stick in in a glass bowl and toss it in the microwave for 30seconds on high, although I am feed it to my pleco, and he eats anythign like crazy, even if its not to soft he will try. I also feed my barbs and pleo peas, they love them. Not sure about your mollies but you could give it a try, just squeez them out of there skin and give them the insides (they will sink).

Hope this helps.

well, I tried softening the zuchini up with boiling water. It sank right away and this time the fish didn't even try to nip at it. Its seems the myth of zuchini eating mollies does not apply to my tank... -_-
