Well i bought a huge jar of wheatgerm now lets see if they eat it

May take a while as they will be used to the higher protein foods that you have been feeding them, which probably taste better. Maggots don't really compare to Wheatgerm , I hope your fish aren't to choosy.

I picked up my wheatgerm today!!

i sometimes pick worms out of the filter and chuck them in the pond but now the waters getting colder i don't fancy that!!

im still feeding mine a mix ,but im adding more wheatgerm as it gets colder,these chaps musnt be fussy they take anything i chuck in,last few days have been mild and there feeding like crazy

hehehe you Losers with your ponds and outdoor. My pond is already frozen over with a three inch thick layer of ice. I can stand on it for christs sake.

I don't think our pond as ever froze so that you can stand on it

Our winters are fairly mild,we haven't had a good snow fall for can't remember ever having one.

Had lots of snow here last year, more than I have ever seen. Whole of the city shut down, so two days off. Hopefully there will be some this year as its the only good bit of winter.

still pretty mild up here for the time of year the fish are still feeding although i dont bother if they dont surface when i go near the pond,cleaned the filter again today the water was bloody freezing,shoulda had me marigolds on brrrrrr

Stopped the maggots now they don't seem interested in them.
