Hi, I have three otos in my planted tank; been there about two weeks. I don't have a ton of algae, but enough to keep them munching... but should I be feeding them anything else? The only other inhabitant is a beta, and he gets pellets, one at a time, so there's no food waste in the substrate. They've ignored flakes and an algae wafer (I left the wafer in for hours before I finally gave up and vacuumed out the soggy, decomposing bits). I'm not espeically familiar with otos - just saw these in the LFS and knew they ate algae - so if there's any question as to what I have, it's the same as in this pic...

When I had Ottos I fed them algae wafers. Once or twice a week I'd put cucumber in which they loved. ;)

No problem Christine. ;)
You could also try other veg such as courgettes, potatoes, peas etc.
