Hi Everyone,

I just added 4 Pristella Maxillaris (xrays) last Sat. after a fishless cycle. The LFS guy said to feed them once every other day. Is this enough?.. I've read a lot about overfeeding on the net and, some say, people get so obsessed with this overfeeding issue that some fish actually starve to death. I plan to do a 10% H20 change each week and a 25% each month with gravel siphoning. What do u think?
Thanks for any info. :fun:

Yeah sounds fine, I feed my first 50g tank in my Sig every other day because it is slightly overstocked. But I usually feed abit more than I would each day every other day if you understand. :D

Feed as much as they will eat in a couple of minutes. After a couple of minutes, if there is still anything left, you're feeding to much. How often depends a lot on what, good quality flake foods have just about everything a fish like that needs. I tend to feed that once every other day and a few other things to vary the diet and stop them getting bored. I frequently have a food free day.

Overfeeding is a very big problem, starving a fish is rare, you can see when a fish is losing condition.

Beginners are frequently advised to underfeed, because they have a tendency to overfeed - so it cancels out.
