Feeding Loach & Fish

Hi All,

Recently introduced a Clown Loach into my tank but having trouble at feeding time.

I feed the other fish (neon tetra, white cloud) flake food and whilst they are eating that I have been getting some pellets to the loach.

While the loach does eat them, so do the other fish when they notice all the flake is gone.

WIll this mean that they are eating too much?

Also, I understand clowns need to be fed at least 3 times a day...how is that possible without the other fish eating too?

if you have a single loach this might be the problem. any single fish will be shy and skittish especially a fish like the clown loach that prefers to be in groups as all loaches do. if you can get another 2 or 3 then they will be straight out for the food as they will feel more confident

i am sure you are aware but clowns can get to 12 inches and are very active fish that need lots of space so i hope your tank is big enough

Haha yes I am aware of that! Huge lol.

no its not shy it is always out swimming around..I just dont know how to feed the loach without the other fish eating his food too?

Surely they will be getting too much by eating the flake them some of the pellets?

I already do that..it seems the other fish just know where the pellets are after they done with the flakes

I suppose there isnt much that can be done is there lol.

If loaches need to be fed more, how can i feed them more without feeding the other fish at the same time?
