just wondered if this food is ok

First of all, congrats on the fry! :D

Liquid fry food is good for now. :) When they get a few weeks, you can start on some small fry food, like Hikari First Bites, or Tetramin Fry Food or whatever you can find. BBS will be good for them, though. Just don't feed it too often, because it could cause bloating and constipation. I'd say maybe...3-4 times a week, max.

What kind of fry are they?

I don't know if the guppies you guys have are small cause whenever I get baby guppies they are already breaking off and eating small pieces of flakes even when one day old.

Nope, we don't get small ones. Guppies will eat flakes when they are small. I just like giving them fry food because it's specially formulated and gives them the kind of nutrition they need. It's fine to feed them flakes, but I baby mine. :p

I use a mortar and pestle to grind up flake and freeze-dried live foods for them, they seem to be growing quite quickly on it too.

my guppy fry are 1 day old, I've given them some crushed flakes & they didnt seem interested. I didnt realise you could get specially formulated food for them.
I might look into that. I'm in the middle of a huge learning curve when it comes to fishkeeping. I'm getting there though.

I crush some flake into tiny particles and rub it in some tank water, this produces a cloud of suspended particles that can be easily digested.
from 3 days old, i feed a mix of crushed flake and newly hatched brine shrimp.

I started mine off on hard boilded egg yolk and baby brine shrimp, then also blanced fresh veg. After about a week they seem to quite like small blood worms.

They're so cute and gain their colours so fast, i have over 40 in my 18 gallon tank with their two mom's, the guy at the lfs is very interested in taking them off my hands, but i'm not quite sure yet.

I feed my 2 fry Tetramin fry baby powder food... To be honest i havnt seen them eating yet, although they have doubled in size, they are about 7 days old....

I've fed my Mollie fry crushed flakes fron the start. They soon catch on and even when they are small they latch on to any big piece and give their tail a flick to break it up. I think fry have some clever instincts. If there is food in the water they wont go hungry...
