I want to try feeding some fresh food (octopus, shrimp, squid) to my fish. Just to clarify, I mean fresh and not live food.

However, I am worried about the transmission of diseases. If I freeze the food before feeding it, would that take care of potential diseases?

Yes it would be good to pre freeze, but I think the greater problem lays in removing all leftovers after feeding.... Now there is more potential for diseases.... Make sure all is eaten and remove all scraps afterwards....

Freezing won't kill any diseases on food....

Can't think of any easy ways to sterilise in the home off the top of my head  You would be best buying gamma radiated foods from the shop to save the trouble ;)

All the best

Agreed, freezing does little to kill some pathogens. It works OK on some fungi and parasites but pretty poorly on bacteria and other parasites. The gamma radiated stuff is definitely the best option here.
