DANG!!!! Thats alot of plecos! How many are there and what size tank are they in? Are you selling some to the pet stores or something? What kind are they?

 Yea there's quite a few huh! To tell you the truth I gave up trying to count them, They've taken over the tank. I got a frisky mama and papa in there!! :hey:

They're in a 100ltr tank and I will be hopefully taking some to the pet store when I get the time. I should be getting a nice fat credit note comming my way sometime soon!! :D

That's very cool
I bet they'd be fun to watch, they certainly look comfortable in their surroundings!

I don't know much about plecs but are they egg layers, and how old are your babies :hey:

yep egg layers and cave spawners ;)

looking at the size of them I'd say they are around 4-5 mounts old, I'm sure Barday will know for sure ;)

they are quite a good size to be taking to a shop... dont expect that much for them though - the store will offer you about a fith of what they sell them for... eg £1 if they sell them for £5.

You will be better off selling them on here or classifieds... ;)

Thanks for the comments all, I'm glad u like them :D

They range in age, there's about 6-8 batches there, from about 1-12 months.

My male actually made his own cave under the bog wood. Sometimes u even see him doing a bit of house keeping! After a gravel vac anywhere near the cave, he throws out all the gravel.....really funny to watch! But appart from that I havent seen the male for about 8 months, he's constantly nursing the young!

How much and how often do you feed?
and what?

We found that the more we fed the more they bred.

If we eased back on the food they slowed their rate of breeding - eg feed ever couple of days and they notice the reduced foor levels and stop making fry....

I can't imagine what vacum cleanings are like. :S The whole container the used water goes in to is probably like 3" thick of feces.

I feed a lot of different types of food....I get the frozen blister packs of bloodworm, daphnia, artemia, tubifex and Krill Pacifica, give them about 4 cubes one day, normal flakes the next, then a day with nothing and repeat.

I also give them algae wafers and fresh foods like peas, cucumber and Courgette.

The waste isn't acually that bad, The water's pretty murky, but nothing major. As long as I keep up with the water changes and vac every time, it's not a problem. However I am using a pretty good filter .......Eheim 2222

Good pics!

Do you really get money of bristlenoses there? Here in Finland they seem to be almost problem waste because everyone lets them breed. Even petshops often refuse to take them, even for free.
