I usually feed my fish what they eat in 30 seconds..and their bellies are already fat. Should I keep feeding until three minutes or what?

I would try feeding on the amount of food you put in. If they completely devour 3 minututes worth in 30 seconds, feed a set amount to them.

It all depends on whom you are feeding and what you are feeding. Feeding hearty eaters (like my livebearers) tropical flakes for 3 minutes seems a recipe for disaster, but they do need that time to tackle a pea. And my corys often need 3 minutes to work out that dinner is served. So I think the answer is - stick to what you are doing, you're clearly doing it right. I feed a set amount of not more than 3 flakes a day/fish.

do we do it?? - nope...

bung it in and leave it - it gets eaten eventually as the scavengers come out in the evening...

Just a note of caution - don't leave too much excess food lying around on the bottom of the tank - this will rot and eventually pollute your water. But I'm sure you know that.

I feed mine a set amount, as long as you make sure all your fish are getting some its fine, over feeding will cause nore problems than under feeding and if you are feeding them everyday they will be fine (as long as one fish isnt getting it all)
