Feeding Dps

Try using a pipette like the ones you get in some test kits or a turkey baster (bit big though).
If they still dont feed soak the bloodworm in some garlic that stimulates the appetite.
Check out www . dwarfpuffers . com loads of good info on there.

Your DP is probably still trying to adapt to it's new environment. It takes a while before they get used to a new tank. As I understand, they can go without food for a couple of weeks with no major problem.

Like I said before, I use a pipette (plastic dropper) to feed mine worm by worm. They grab the worms straight from the pipette. Try to wave the worm a bit so that it looks like a live worm wriggling. If you are worried, give it 2 or 3 small baby snails (ramshorns or tadpole snails are best) if you have them. My DPs like snails more than bloodworms.

Good luck :good:

Thanks, i guess i'll have to locate a pipette. Could you use ones that come with the medicine bottles. As i got a load of those when buying a new tank and havent ever used them??

That site is the reason i ended up buying one. They are just great :) Also it would fit in my newley aquired nano tank so it was a perfect match :)

I can't see why not, as long as they are clean.

Right gave it a go with the pipette and it ate :)

So good to see it actually eat. Just want to check this little bump on his belly is ok. I gave him 3 small bloodworms to eat and wont feed it now till tommorow or maybe the day after id be greatful to kwno the best feeding schedule so i dont overfeed.

pretty sure that 'bump' is fine. My dp gets it every time she eats, i think its just the food in the belly, making it a funny shape sometimes.

That did seem the case, was gone this morning and was back when i fed it a few hours ago. So fun feeding them. Watching them come over and checking out the pipette then nipping it :D

My DP is currently in love with the Ricca i added to the tank yesterday (Thansk BigIan!!)
