Just a little curious as to how you guys started feeding your fish vegetables and what not. So, about 3 hours ago I chopped up a cucumber, took a slice, added the flexible metal piece they use to tie plants together, and dropped it in my tank. My fish were a little shy around it at first and quickly warmed up to it being in there, but now they swim around it like it's a piece of decoration. haha. I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually.

So, yeah, just wonderin how did your guys fish do when you started feeding them things of this sort. Did they react the same as mine? Dig right in? Maybe, not even eat at all?

let it sit there for a day or two and they will eventually eat it

they cant eat it yet because its not soft enough for them, wait till the water soaks into it and they will start eating it

you can also just boil the vegies before you put them into the tank and they will start eating it within a couple of hours maybe sooner

You have any pleco in your tank. He must eat it. What type of fish do u have because not all fish eat may eat the slice of cucumber. You shouldnt keep it more than 24 hours because it will make the quality of the water very poor.

Cucumber is a complete waste of time for fish as there is little if no nutrients in it waht so ever. You are better using Sweet Potato, Courgette etc.

true, i usually put zucchinis in there because cucumbers are just green water melons, full of water!

There's not much you could do to convince a fish to eat whatever you put in the tank

you could not feed anything else until they eat it, but then again

My plecos eat zucchinis minutes after it's in the tank but the other fish don't really bother

It really depends on your fish
