I've heard many people here say that they feed their livebearers cucumber, I feed mine peas sometimes but am unsure of the best way to go about feeding them cucumber. I have platys and guppies.

Do you cut it into small mouth size pieces?
Put in a slice or a cube for them to peck at?
Do you boil it a little first?

:S ????

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

I usually stick about half a sliver of Cucumber in a Veggie Clip. I tried bite size pieces, but they missed them and they all just fell and scattered. The clip works well, so they can pick at it. You can also just weigh it down with a stone or a rock...just something to keep it in the same place. It's also good to blanch it for a few seconds, just to soften it up for them. :) If there are any Alage eating fish in the tank, you don't have to, but if it's just the Livebearers, it will be easier for them to eat.

Edit: I can't spell today. :p

My mollies go mad for cucumber, I tie some thread around a thickslice(1")and pull tight so that the thread cuts through to the middle then I sellotape the end of the thread to the outside of the tank. The cucumber is then suspended in the water but its easy to remove the piece when its nearly all gone.
