my LFS sells crickets and i was wondering if my fish would benefit from feeding on the occasional cricket or if it just not nessceary. appreciate the advice.

my fish are 9 tiger barbs 1 pictus cat 1 leporinus fasciatus 1 male and 1 female kirbinsis.

Well a varied diet is always good ... its just a question of the size ... I think your pictus cat would benefit most being a bottom feeder I beleive

My angelfish LOVE crickets. They prefer the smaller ones. I just buy a few, pop them in, close the lid and all the mollies,s words, angels, platies, apistogramma come and eat them up. They love 'em!

oh no i couldnt feed live food!! i'd feel too sorry for it  i'd probably end up keeping the poor things in another tank cos i wouldnt have the heart to feed them to something!!! how soft am i??? lol

the smallest fish would be the barbs who could deffinitly hadle a small cricket, every one else is about 4-6 inches. i guess ill have to goand get some crickets soon.

I would be just the same - couldnt bear the thought of those poor things flailing for their lives!

I was over run with slugs in the garden a while back so one early morning my husband and I went out and collected hundreds of them. I couldnt bear to kill them so we collected them in a plastic bag with holes in and after work were going to take them to the local park. Anyway the day was roasting hot and I thought poor things will die from the heat. So I let them all go back in my garden!!! Now THATS too soft!!!
