Hello.
I did put this another bit of this site but it doesn't seem to get visited enough..or its a stupid question!

We are quite new to this and have just got 4 albino cory cats. Our problem is feeding them. We got some algae wafers (advised by lfs) and put half down. Our other fish (2 mollies,4 platys) eat their own flakes and then go down and eat the wafers before the corys get much chance.

The corys seem to spend all their time zooming around the tank, occasionally snuffling around in the gravel and occasionally come accross a bit of wafer- if any left. After nibbling th wafer a couple of times they zoom off again. Are they getting enough to eat..they hardly seem to bother with eating. We are worried that they are starving and the other fish end up with 2 much.

best way to feed corys is wait until lights out then drop some sinking pellets in the tank, the active fish will be less active with lights off and the corys usually feed best at night, by the way how big is your tank, just wondering because you own 4 :shifty:

We have a 60cm x 30cm x 30cm tank. We checked with lfs who said this would be ok and that we should get 4.

Are they normally so manic?!

Depends on the surroundings i suppose, i feed mine after lights out, i usually turn lights out at 9pm then drop in the wafers b4 i go to bed.

Hello,

I feed my corys JMC catfish pellets. I leave the light on and just feed them a nice pinch of pellets. They love them. You can pick up a nice big tub of them for around £3.00. I also have clown loaches in my tank which feed happily on them too. The tub of pellets have lasted me ages.

Visit Aquatics online uk to get a lok at whwt the tub looks like. They are redily available from most LSF's

Regards

Gaz.

I feed my corys hikari sinking waffers and have had great luck with them. I remember my corys didnt eat the first week or so.. If they are new maybe they are still adjusting..
