Hi! I went out and bought shrimp pellets and algae wafers for my clown loaches. Is it just my fish because all of my fish pick at them for hours and hours and they seem impossible to eat. I keep reading all these good things about them but they are hard as rocks. Is it supposed to take them all day to eat these. They only thing I can get my clown loaches to eat are the freezedried tubifex worms that I use a holder to keep down near the bottom. Other than that because they won't come to the surface to eat I don't know what to feed them. Would it be ok to feed the worms every other day or so. Please help they are hungry and trying to eat but seem to be getting nowhere. Thanks Leah

That's what is good about them, they last and don't disolve in the tank. YUCK :p I have some other "tablets" that just make a complete mess of your tank. The wafers and shrimp pellets dissolve only enough for the fish to pic pieces off.

How long have you had your Clowns? Have they always been fed the same thing? If their relatively new, then they need some time to adjust to Your food. If you have always fed them the same thing....they are SPOILED :D

Mine would not touch the algea wafers for the first week or so that I was feeding them. Now they swarm all over them and the wafers simply disappear after a while. I normally only feed mine regular flake in the mornings, but they get Bloodworms, Shrimp Pellets, Algea Wafers, Spiralina Flakes, and Brine Shrimp at night. Obviously not all of them every night, but you get the idea.

HTH :)

they'll eat off the wafers slowly, its not something they jsut gobble right up. as for the shrimp pellets, i hate those things. my fish LOVE them though. they don't dissovle untila fish touches them, and my mollies are the ones that actually go to the bottom and eat them (crazy confused mollies of mine), and then theres always stuff in the water the following mornign (drop them in at night for hte cories initally). it clears by the end of the day, its just annoying. but the fish do love them. give your loaches some time to adjust to the new diet, they WILL eat soon enough if they aren't already....... :)

Heh, my clowns ate just about everything. ;) They absolutely loved frozen bloodworms and whatever snails they could find in the tank, but were happy with different pellets and tablets as well. I hear they enjoy cucumber or zucchini slices that have been boiled for a few seconds.

Thnak you guys!! I feel much better now that I know it's not just my fish. LOL. I will keep trying the wafers and pellets, and put some tubifex worms in there evry few days or so for them. Maybe I'll try the cucumber too, I tried Romaine but all of my fish just spit it out. Thanks, I feel much better now. Think I'll go get some frozen bloodworms too. :D Leah
