I have a 35 litre marine nano with cured live rock (7kg) and live sand (2kg). It is a cloned tank as I had the rock, water and the sand directly from my lfs system. I have a cuc of 2 peppermint shrimp, 6 assorted hermits and 6 ditto snails. What and when do I feed them? Why has the pulsing xenia stopped? All the water readings are normal.

no need to feed anything. The pulsing stopped is because they felt like it. There are theories, but sometimes they just arent in the mood.

Do you do water changes?

Yes, I do a 10% water change once a week. Wierd not to feed anything - even not the shrimps? I wouldn't want the live sand to be denuded. Dumb questions I know...

if you have some flake food. take a very small piece crunch it up and dip your hand in the water. all the flake should come off your hand. they will get what they want and the hermits will scavenge the rest.

yea i would also feed the shrimp, but not every day, i would leave my little fire shrimp a day with out food and feed the next. make them work for it. if the tank is clean, then for your hermits and snails i would leave some Noir every 3 to 4 days, and take it out the next morning.
