Can anybody suggest anywhere in or near Leicester, Loughborough, Derby that refills Fire Extinguishers?
Mines not quite ready to be refilled but it would be nice to have somewhere in mind when the time does come.
Thanx

don't tell me you have almost used 5kg of Co2 already!!

It's a good ideal to have a spare full FE that you can use when yours runs empty and the other is being refilled. Just contact your local FE companies and ask for quotes for re fills. The prices will differ a lot from one place to another.

I pay £20 for the 5KG to be refilled and £12 for the 2KG, This is with a company based only a couple of miles from me. I know it can be done for cheaper but not without having to travel further away.

Out of curiosity - How many times (or how many years) can you get the FE refilled before you need to replace it completely?

In the US, I don't even know if you're allowed.  We have a law now that you must return your propane tanks and get a new one each time (recent law, about 10 years old).  You trade your old one in and get a credit when you buy the next one.  They reuse these, but they need to be inspected before they are resold.  Anyone know if its legal in the US to refill?

lol no no no not used it all just yet, I just like to be prepared and organised and have a place ready to go to when I need it refilled. Iv done a basic google search but didnt have much luck. Might be a job for 118 118 lol And yes I was planning on ordering a second FE this wknd so im prepared for the swop over. Believe it or not my tank only uses 3bps so I recon iv got awhile to go yet. Like I said im just being over prepared. Jus how I am lol

Here im sure they pressure test it every time its refilled and replace all valves ect every 10years??? Something like that.

The FE I use are checked/tested each and every time they are refilled, I would assume that as long as they pass the tests they can be refilled but I may be wrong.

I pay for an exchange service so its annoying when you take a nice shiny empty FE and get given a tatty one back that has clearly been around for a while

One of my 2KG has a twist valve fitted so I don't get exchange on that one it has to be refilled.
