I can't really see in this photo but you can tell the male because he has bristles on his rostrum.

Well...which is it? ;)

Oh, and in juveniles you really can't tell very well until they get older.

Sounds kind of like a Bristlenose pleco in terms of gender identification.

Oh.. I thought you were telling me its a male :( Errm well it appears to have tiny micro ridges and umm there's a like a ridge extended at the very top that's an opaque/white color? You can make it out in the picture.

No, I can't really tell from the photo but you can look and see. Or if you can take a better shot of the rostrum using the macro mode on  your camera we can all take a closer look.

Sorry IPhones don't really have the best camera in the world :(

First glance I would say female or juvenile. Also, you can tell the species often by counting the plates. Two vs three rows.
Here's a good example of the male.

I was thinking acus but I can't see the whole thing very well.

Here :)

It can be hard to tell because sometimes it's just the number of plate rows that determines species but I'm sticking with my original thought.

Ahh okay. I'll try and get a better pic later!

My guess was going to be female just going on the shape of them. Though just a guess from observations, not a species I have had to sex very often!
