i only ask as i was in portsmouth last week and googled fish shops, as i do if im anywhere new! and found THIS

i quote "The shop has been been voted as one of the "Top 40 Shops" in Britain by readers of "Practical Fishkeeping" magazine for two years running." im not so sure... i dont mean to slate anyone and i might stand corected, but the shop smelt of smoke , the tanks were less than clean and the other stock was limited to say the least!

so i searched this forum and found this.

i wonder who makes up theese lists because i have found some exceptional shops in my travels with not a mention!!!

Agreed, i definatly wouldnt put it in any top 40.......... unless it was out of 40. I went there a couple of months back and decided a return visit really wasnt worth it

I was quite upset i went out of my way. Excitement, then..... nothing

Yeah, luckily i hadnt gone out of my way to go there as i was just heading back from novatech. If i had i would of bee seriously peeved. Luckily ive got a maidenhead aquatics about 5mins from me so i get a lot of stuff from there although it can be a little more expensive.

wheres that maidenhead aquatics, cos im down that way quite a bit, i go to one just outside bordon in hampshire which is probably the best lfs i have been to

Depends where your coming from but its in titchfield,fareham. Its not the biggest ive been to but its nice and easy for me to get to. You'll find it in abbey garden centre, the post code is PO15 5RB. Not far up the same road is garsons garden centre, in there is copner tropicals in there. Again its not massive and they seem to be expanding the reptiles everytime I go in there but tanks are always nice and clean. There is another one even further up the same road but ive never been there so im not sure exactly what they do...... think its meon valley aquatics (I'm sure its koi they specialise in)

yer i tend to use the MA in Titchfield as well - bit more expensive as hunter001 said but I've never had any problems or bad fish from there so im ok with that. not the widest range of fish but they have the vast majority and can probably order most things for you if needed.
