Fancy Plecs

I did not ask about royal or common plecs!!!!
You didn't, but the person who started this thread in the first place asked ;) That's why it's always best to quote someone when you reply - to avoid confusion :good:

ok well i have a royal pleco on the way. im picking her up on friday.
would anyone be able to tell me if common plecos can go with royal plecos please?

ok well my local fish shops have no fancy plecs. the fanciest plec around for miles (probably) is the gibbiceps and it doesnt really strike me as "fancy" so ive decided to go to online buying.
does anyone know a decent website that sells fancy plecs?
plzzzzzzzzzzzz

This was the original post that I was replying to, I never mentioned royal or common plecs as I have no experience with them.

As for whether a Royal can live with a common, did you not find that out on the "hundreds" of sites you researched before buying?

This is the quote I am objecting to, I never asked I looked at hundreds of sites, but knew they would be too big, I never professed to know any thing about commons and royals living together, nor did I offer information on them.

Please read what I am writing and replying to before giving, snotty replies.

Get off your high horse and read the thread properly...

It was started by someone else - not you...

The question was from that person... not you...

Bloo's reply was aimed at the person that started the thread and asked the question.... not you...

I think this all started when 2 comments/questions were thought to be from the same person "I researched hundreds of sites" and "can royals and commons live together" when in fact they are from different people.

There have been so many questions, answers and comments made in this thread that it's inevitable that people are going to get muddled, no need to make a big deal out of it.

So before wires get 2 crossed why not just let 'who said what' drop and we can move on, I'm still waiting on photos of Queeny from TigerIssey ;)

Thank you egmel, I did get offended however I am not the type off person to hold a grudge. I just tried to answer the original thread, not the bit about commons etc.

As to the pics of queenie, short of sitting next to the tank with my camera all day, I am at a loss as to how to get a photo. I could try feeding some blood worms later, I know she loves them, and get my camera set up ready. She is a truly beautiful fish that I would like to share with you all.

If this does not work, any ideas, many of you must have photographed plecs before.

Does she like cucumber? There tends to be bits of cucumber in lots of photos of plecs from members!

It's also more stationary than bloodworms!

Queen arabesques are not algae eaters, she hasn't fed on any cucumber or sweet potato I have tried. I read their main diet is carniverous, hence the bloodworms, she does go for them.

 showing my plec ignorance there!

Then I'd go with the blood worm and see if that helps, try to get it as close to the front of the glass as possible and have good ambient lighting so you don't need a flash.

Though saying that, judging by my photos I may not be the best person to ask!

I've just re-found this thread though which should help.

Ok I managed to get a picture, she is in her cave, its not full body but you can see the stunning markings.
Thanks for the link, I had my camera Fuji finepix S9500, pretty much set OK.

Ohh she's gourgoeus   Definitely fancy in my opinion too!

I only have a small tank so at the moment can only dream of having plecs like that :)

Just wait though, when I'm done with being a student MTS will set in fully! :D

She's a total babe ! and worth every penny. :alien: with envy!
Ps: very good photos too.
