I'm guessing by false bumblebee you mean something like Pseudomystus siamensis?
If so, follow the link for more info on the fish in question. If not, any chance of a photo to allow confirmation of the ID?

I kept them about 15 years ago. Attractive fish that in my experience you never see as they were extremely secretive and spent the majority of their time hiding under bog wood.

Also predators with a decent sized mouth for small fish. Mine topped out at about 4 inces if memory serves me right and I recall as an inexperienced fishkeeper at the time losing tetras to them

Catfish are great fish and a tank with cats and maybe something for upper levels too big for their mouths makes an interesting tank :good:

ive got it in a community tank with cichlids the only tetras i have in are congo tetras, ive also got 2 ancistrus bristlenose in and more worried about them if im honest , will they be ok in there when he matures ?i went back to my lfs and checked the notes and theyre definitely stenomus .

The bristlenoses will be fine with P.stenomus.

Bumblebees are really cool my mate has one and hes around 5" at the moment I'm not sure how big they would grow but they will grow rapidly if kept in a smaller tank (say 90L) and then get moved to a larger tank. When he moved his to a larger tank it grew around 2.5" in maybe 4 months.
