heh, that last one reminded me of when my mom tried teaching our female mutt Sandy (who's only bright in all the wrong ways) some tricks.

teaching Sandy to "come" went pretty good; Mom would hold up the treat, say "Sandy, come" and the dog would run over.

teaching Sandy to "sit" didn't go so hot. somehow all Mom managed to teach Sandy to do was to plop down on her butt everytime Mom went out the back door. it was so funny; that dog could be 50 feet out in the yard but as soon as she saw Mom at the door, *PLOP* she'd sit right there. and that dog couldn't look more pleased with herself for being so clever...

the last picture you posted really reminded me of the expression on Sandy's face when she'd do her "trick"

pica, dogs are silly like that, aren't they? Grady does something kind of similar when we're eating dinner. He walks up in front of us and sits and stares. When we don't react, he gets up and walks closer and sits and stares again. He does this, getting faster and faster and moving closer and closer til his head is resting in our laps. It's like he's saying "I'm here! I'm sitting! Can't you see me?!?" It's so funny!

You should have seen them last night. They were outside playing while I was making dinner, and I didn't hear it when it started raining. When I heard the rain I was like "OH NO!" I darted outside and found them just standing in the rain, soaking wet and all full of mud. I felt so bad! They just ran in the house and jumped on the couch (getting it full of mud in the process) and didn't seem to mind so much at all. Silly little things.
