Facebook down

Facebook has been down all day for me. I’ve even googled it and tried various links to get in, but none have loaded. Everything else is hunky dory. Anyone else?

Maybe a connection issue for your network to facebook... I know sometimes that happens with certain apps/sites for me

I think it was my phone. Rebooted it this morning and all is well.

FakeBook can go jump in a lake for all I care . Left that sewage lagoon a couple years ago . But . . . in case you’re wondering just how ignorant people can be go sign up .

It is a terrible site. My feed fills up with adverts and ridiculous posts with badly photoshopped pictures of ridiculous things (mostly from India). I follow about 120 fish groups. It could be an awesome site because all the icthyologists are on it, but it gets so full of c.rap I hardly see a post from any of the groups I’m following.
If I leave it for a few weeks the c.rap disappears, but then when I go back it only takes about a week for it to be unusable again.

When I win the lottery I’ll set up add-free rival sites to both Facebook and YouTube.

The humans who claim to own FB are AI created fronts for a group of snails who really run things. The snails feed on all the debris and detritus that people post there.
Those snails, and the slugs who run the advertising side are huge.

FB isn't competition. There are fish groups running at the next few levels up, with a lot more expertise than we generally go for here. We're an entry drug and the junkies tend to use FB. They don't post a lot but there is good stuff if you like the more research based side of the hobby.

FB has done a lot of harm to what the internet could be, but it's there and there's no stopping it. We need to know the secret @Ichthys accidentally stumbled upon. I know for my students, other data miners than Facebook mattered, and they saw FB as an old people's platform.
