Hi

I posted a while ago about my silver shark that got stuck in an ornament recently. We managed to free him and his scales are healing well and he is back to his usual self eating etc. Tonight however I noticed one of his eyes look infected it's almost like a white puss thing on his eye .

Has anyone ever seem this or know what it is and a treatment for it?

Thanks in advance :good:

Sorry no, hopefully though this will bump your question back to the top so that some one who does know can answer! How's the fish doing now?

Are you sure this is connected to the injury?
Do you have a photo?

I once had a boseman rainbow that had a bad eye - turned out to be Popeye caused by a parasitic fluke.
Suggested treatment was isolation, freq water changes and a bacterial antibiotic treatment added to the water.
This failed for my fish, but I did manage to cure it and save his eye - but the treatment was rather extreme.

Pint glass with a strong solution of tropical fish salt added to water taken from the aquarium.
Fish added to pint glass for 10 minutes. This stresses the fish and can lead to death.
Evidently, the parasite cannot live in salt water, so it leaves the fish to find a better environment and dies in the process.

My boseman survived and lived for another 3 years with two good eyes.

Please do seek other advise before going ahead with any treatment. For me, it was this or death of my fish, so I took the chance.
If the infection is associated with the injury, it is better to begin with a bacterial infection treatment in an isolation tank.

Good luck!
