External Heater?

Hi all,
 
i'm looking to get an external heater for my new build rather than have one in the tank, and a quick search and it looks as though its Hydor or nothing, is this true?
any ideas on wattage (tank is approx 120-130 litres) and has anyone got any experience/tips for an external heater as I have never used one.

The 200Watt Hydor is prefect for a tank size of that, You could push 100w but it depends what size the hose is for the filter.
 
I used Hydor and never had a issue with them.

I have now got the hydor 300W on my large tank, freaking love it. Steal at £30 bnib

Yup indeed. Seller was putting them on using bidding starting at £29.95, spotted one with an end time of 4am on a Tuesday, so used a bid sniper. Was the only bidder on that unit >
