Hi, might get an external filter for my 38g tank, and i was just wondering what models you would surrgest?
I was thinking eheim ecco 2234, which has a flow rate of 500 LPH,(costs £63 delivered) and my tanks 125l, so do you think that would be sufficient?
Theres also the eheim classic 2213 with 440 LPH (£56 delivered), which is cheaper than the ecco, and then the eheim classic 2215 at 600 PLH, which is abit more at £71 delivered....
Which do you think would be best, in terms of value for money, and if i got the one with the stronger flow rate, presumeably, i could stock slightly heavier...

Thanks alot, Mikey

the emperor 280 is gd , 1060 liters per hr , 280 ghp.Even gives you some options such as running media containers or more filter cartridges which is good for aquariums with high ammonia. It's super quiet, and it grows like billions of bacteria in it's little wheels. highly recommend this filter for 'big tanks'.

AquaClear.AquaClears is their versatility...the design makes them incredibly easy to reconfigure filter media any way u want, and also to add/remove home-made media. AquaClears are also very silent and reliable, and the output flow doesn't disturb the water surface too much, making it an ideal filter for live plant tanks .

I have the penguin powe wheel 125(475 liters per hr , 125 gph) I like it alot, crystal clearwater, Easy to clean and but the emperor 280 is a bit better and more expensive , but it worth the price :good:

my tank is 30 gallons so i bought my filter that was for a 50 gallon tank! To clean it better

I use an Eheim 2026 in my 43G. Fantastic filter, only needs maintenance once every couple of months and it's really quiet.

well when i start my malawi tank, i am going to go for the Eheim Ecco 2234, £55.99 (with media).
i think this will do the job, here's the link.....

its going to be for a 40gal.

Looks good , i just ordered ( about 20 minutes ago ) a classic 2213 , as some people had reccommended it . Looked at the ecco range , its all down to personal choice really :good:
