I've got a All Pond Solutions 1400lph with UV on my 120 and two Fluval 304,s on my 5ft tank which I've just set up. I'd say the APS is better build quality & is a bit sturdier & less diddly plus it uses a spray bar where the fluval doesn't. Mind you, the cost for the APS one was very reasonable though I can't say about the Fluvals as they came with the tank.
In all honesty, pretty much any external will be better than an internal & are soooooo much easier to live with!!!
Congrats on seeing the light!!!! Lol.

Can I butt in and ask. I've had my mind "set" on the Tetratec 1200 when I get my new tank for a while now but I read a review today that said it holds 91L of water. Is that true??? Just because it'll make the weight upstairs coupled with the actual tank so much more than I originally calculated. It's actually 31l more than my current actual tank which seems mad. It must be huge???

Sure that must be a typo!

The dimensions are:

Dimensions: W 22cm / 9 Inches D 22cm / 9 Inches H 38cm / 15 Inches

And it seems its capacity varies from one site to the next! I believe it holds about 22-23L of water plus the media.

Its a bit of a beast of a filter! But seriously not **that** big!! I had one and even full of water, it is still easy to lift! I am not easily lifting something that holds 90L lol.

Dont know if the 91L was misread and was actually 9.1L worth of media? As i say 9-10L worth of media plus about 20-23L of water?
