I have my tank in my bedroom, my internal filter is very quiet but I would prefer an external really.

Can anyone recommend one? (it must be very quiet).

Thanks!

Lol it will be bigger than the tank!!

My main tank is in my bedroom so i asked this question a whiles back, in the end i choose a tetratec ex1200 and its as quiet as a mouse, you have to actually try and hear it to hear it if you get me!

I cant find anything from the 'main' brands (fluval, ehiem and tetratec) that i wouldn't consider overkill on a tank that small, ok my tank is turned over approximately 12 times an hour but i think the you might have a white water rapid on your hands with that small a footprint on the tank!!

Is that tank as big as it gets or are you looking to upgrade to a bigger one in the future?

I might get a larger one in the future. I take it that I am best off sticking with my stngray then??

Imho probably yes, but i don't have exp. running an aquarium of that size so i'd wait and see if anyone else can suggest an alternative!

Sorry couldn't be of more help!

they are as quiet as any external filter.
BTW Eheim still make spares for this filter, so replacement impellors, seals etc are easy to obtain :good:

let us know hw you get on with it m8 , been thinking about getting one of these for my wee tank.

Cheers - I need help though!

I just checked it out, its looks great. How can I keep the bacteria from my current filter?

My one is a sponge filter you see and this new filter uses noodles.

Whats the best idea? shall I try and get the sponge in the cannister with the noodles?

Cheers.
