External Filter For Malawi's?

hi,i have a 55 gallon with malawi's.i am looking to buy an external filter and am looking for personal recommendations.i have £100 ish pounds to spend.i've looked at the eheim 2227 and the new tetra tetratec externals.looking to buy in the next week so i really need your help.
