Trying to get these 4 built in tanks in the same picture… from left to right… African Tetra tank, South American Tetra tank, Asian bamboo water garden, South American Cichlid tank

Stand construction is interesting, as the 2 - 55 gallon tanks in the center, are supported in the center of the tank, allowing another 55 gallon tank to sit between and below them ( only visible from the back side ) the 2 tanks on the ends are 45 gallon talls and each has a 30 gallon long under it ( not yet refilled ) visible from this side ( the tanks on the left are visible from both long sides ) I’ll likely use the 30 gallon longs as breeding tanks, sometime, when I get around to refilling them… these were all running before moving and building them in, like over 20 years ago, and run or a couple years, at which point, I got too busy doing other things, and they sat empty… I started refilling them one by one, as I got time, a couple years ago…

It’s actually my bed, they are like a wrap around headboard, but I have a footboard to the bed, where I can sit and look at the tanks ( where the picture was taken from ) I have an awesome wife, who put up with them sitting empty, in the walls around our bed for around 20 years… about 2 years ago, I decided I better either fill them again, or tear them out.. I’m glad I refilled them…

A bed ? That’s even awesomer . I could wax eloquent about fish and romance but this is a family forum .

It’s great mood lighting… but alas, I’m old and worn out now, so more watching fish than romance anymore…

Only once, before I got so many plants… on the fronts, a wall above the tanks goes to the ceiling, and the tanks are caulked around the front, so no fish or water in bed… ( if that was your concern ) there is a 2.5 foot wide work area behind the tanks… this is where all the lighting and plants are… In hindsight, I could have made the work area a little wider ( can’t really get good pictures of the Bichir and Silver Dollars in the 55 gallon under the 2 tanks in the middle…. But the built in footboard / backrest for viewing, is extra additional support under the main support beam, of the house, so that was my starting point

I have good enough plant hedges along the backs of the tanks, that should contain all but the Olympic class jumpers
