Ok, iv got this pleco in my female betta comunity and he is quite aggressive, he chases down and trys to suck on my albino bronze cory. He's also quite bold, hes gone after my female bettas as well and i fear that they are going to gang up on him any moment. hes 3 inches long and is brown with some camophluagh pattern on, iv been calling him a common plec but im really not sure -_- any suggestions -_-

Yes, they do that.

Sounds like a common to me too, and they always get territorial in confined & overstocked spaces. Give him more room & less tankmates and he'll settle down.

You do know that a common plec will grow longer than the tank you have him in don't you?

Reminds me of a CAE's behavior, I didn't like my CAE very much. :grr:

Anyways, it's got to go, esp. if it is a common plec. Just get your lfs to take it.

I hope you have good filtration to be keeping a common pleco in such a small tank. I suggest you think about returning him and getting a clown or bristlenose or bulldog plec instead, before your common starts getting too big and messy.

As for being terratorial, my Bristlenose in my 50G was for a while, chasing down anything that came near it. This hapenned for about a week or 2. And when I added the Big White Spot Pleco, it made him realise he wasn't king of the tank!....

yes iv got good filtration in there and plenty of places for him to hide, i know hes gunna get big but hes a slow grower and should be ok for a little while, i juts bought a new 20g i can put him in ;)

A 20G tank is still far too small for a common pleco. They will reach 12inches in size and so for the sake of the pleco i would take it back to ur lfs. I dnt mean to sound horrible or anything but common plecs need massive tanks and so even a new 20 is nowhere near big enough. It might be ok for a little while but unless you plan to seriously upgrade id take it back.

 Common pleco get very large...some 10 inches or more. They have been know to attach to fish and destroy their slime coat. They can kill tank mates  O swotched to Bristle nosed pleco as they don't even go after young angel fry.
