When sucking out fry I have got a few gulps of water....its not that bad, in fact, it doesn't taste all that different to tap water here

Yeah, I just get a glass and dip it in my tank, walk over to the fridge and get some ice. Nothing like tank water when you're hot!

forunately, i haven't ever tasted my fish's water, not sure what you guys are talking about with teh syphon, i use a big syringe and put the water in

i'm tempted to taste, but i dont' think it's a good idea

you use a big syringe to add/remove your water? thats a new one! haha, never heard of that before. but how do you clean your substrate then? or do you have a bare bottom?

Seriously the tank water itself dosen't taste THAT badly...it's the fact that there's...stuff...in it that makes it icky.

i didn't swallow it though....ended up spittin it all on my bedroom floor....which even though that sounds nasty, i'd rather have spit on my floor than tank water in my mouth

okay Ive suck started my siphon close to 50 times and I've never tasted my fish tank water. Its a good thing you people arent trying to steal gas
