Ever done this?...

Luckly I have not ended up with a jar of food in my tanks yet, but my 2 year old son sure has had fun dumping I don't know how many jars of betta pellets all over the living room carpet. He had 3 dumped in a pile at one time. Tak about a stinky mess. My wife though once fed my girl bettas and put waaaaaaaaay too much food in. I had to gravel vack it all up. Ended up taking 2 gal of water out just to get all the food out! I have forgotten to put frozen blood worms away though. They do stink!

Edited to add: My son also likes taking the lid off my 2.5 gal and playing in the sand and water. He woke up before I did yesterday morning and climbed out of his crib when I was still sleeping early in the morning (around 5:00 am early) and I woke up to a wet sandy mess all over the living room floor, the end table, my guitar....... Now 2 of my betta boys have sand dust stuck all over them. Poor boys.

My son came downstairs and said "were you planning on putting the bloodworm back in the freezer or were you going to leave it on my carpet for mom to find"
I thought it was funny as well - well not at the time - Cheeky kids eh , 13 and they think they can get away with speaking to their forgetful old dad like that

When i first started out i had 3 tiger barbs and a dozen tetras in a 10gal and i spilled half the tub of flakes in. :(

I managed to get most of it out but a lot sank to the bottom.
And yes nearly eveyrone died, except for 6 lucky neons that have also moved house 4 times in the space of 1 year and are oblivious to the gang of angels they live with.

Now thats luck for u.

I've left a pack of frozen bloodworm in my mini-fridge before, planning to put it in the freezer when noone was looking. But it melted... I can still smell it now.

Haha great stories!

Ive dropped a few lids in before too, and the heater caps once of twice B)

Good Times

yes, and if they say they aren't they're liars!
Well then I'm weird since I've never done that and I'm not a liar. I've dropped my net in the tank but that's it.

My cousin has some goldfish and put half the tub of flakes in :p

I haven't, but I did drop the best part of the (large) sachet of crab cuisine on the floor :p

erm i havent dropped food in but i fell in the 200 once!i was soaking and a great big piece of slate stabbed is in the leg

I also have 'helpful' cats. My very first water change, I was draining water into a bucket. One of the cats came over and put his paws up on the bucket to check it out. He pulled it over and the hose kept on syphoning more water. All on the carpet of course.

I had to look to see if I was the one that posted this. Not that I have ever done that but it sounds like something my son would say. Incidentally, he is a member here too (chkltcow).

sounds like you need to get a lid on that crib ;) :p

babies: Can reach in excess of 6 feet in length. A tight well fitting lid is essential as the fish is a jumper and will attempt to leave the aquarium.

i've yet to drop in any food, but then i've only been doing this for a couple of years... :/ i've probably jinxed it now

I guess I've falling into my tank a little bit, the worst was when I was adding water to the tank and lifted up the bucket to pour the water in and it fell backwards so I got 5 gallons of water throw on me. Wasn't fun cleaning up
