Thinking about picking up this beautiful unused 92gal. Bow-front corner tank and am wondering abou setup. All it has is the stand, overflow kit, and a glass top. My girlfriend wants to do a marine tank and I'm thinking it's going to be quite costly to keep up let alone stock(live rock and sand, fish). I love the looks of a nice green planted freshwater aquarium and fish. Or possibly a cichlid tank. Could we put some costs together(monthly and otherwise) for me? I know i'm looking at a ballast and bulbs at minimum and filtration system. WHat am I up against here.. ? :)

i think salt is best but much more costly.i have a 55gl and live rocks alone cost 7-15 dollors a pound (wet). you will need at least 1lb per gal of water. plus salt i pay 24.00 for a 50gl bag :S . but you will love it when it is done. it is worth all the money i promise.if you do saltwater go slow and do everything right or you'll waist lots of money and get discuraged quick. but if you go fresh it can be just as lovely i would go with live plants it makes a big difference

Beauty-wise I would also go with salt or the tropical, tropical will cost about 1/3 as much. If you want entertainment however, like I have always said, if it's not a cichlid, it's hardly a fish! :p

Sorry if I insulted anyone! :*)

lol freshmike. Hey Im thinking of doing a cichlid tank but i think I need a bigger tank than a 10 gallon. Maybe for christmas my parents will get me a bigger one!
