Ladies and Gents, Boys and Girls, all our fish lovers around the world - it's time for our monthly Tank of the Month Contest!
This month we are allowing only freshwater aquariums sized at 16 US gallons and smaller to be entered in the TOTM contest.

If you have a tank of the above stated size, please consider entering this month's contest. It doesn't matter whether your tank is planted or not planted and it doesn't matter if your tank is not yet near your final goal. More entrants make the contest more interesting, so enter your tank today!

RULES:
A picture uploaded via our "attach files" tool with a handwritten note held in front or attached to your tank with "December 2024 TFF TOTM" written on it is required to validate your entry. If you wish, you may post either a second recent picture OR a video (not both) without the note attached. (If you post a 2nd pic or video, that pic or video will be displayed as your entry post in the poll). Right under the pictures or the video, post a nice detailed write-up of your tank.
**The write up should include a good description of your tank including size, age of setup, fish stocking, water parameters, ferts used, lighting, filtration type, aeration, tank maintenance procedures, feeding schedules, etc.
  • The tank you enter must be in your household
  • If you won a TOTM contest previously, you must skip at least 2 TOTM contests before you can enter a different tank.
  • Video can be uploaded to youtube and then a link to the video may be posted in this thread.
  • A detailed description is required!
  • Entries will be accepted till 4 PM ET (US) on December 2nd or when we have 10 entrants...whichever comes first. Any entrant who posts an entry after we have 10 entrants will be asked to enter the next TOTM contest and their post will be deleted. The winner will be decided by votes cast by FishForums.net members.
  • Please note: you are not allowed to have friends or family join TFF for the main purpose of voting for your entry
What do I win?
  • You will get a cool banner in your profile area noting that you are a winner of Tank of the Month.
  • Your winning entry will be showcased in a "TOTM Winner" topic for all to see and to comment.
  • Your winning entry will be added to our TOTM Wall of Fame
Please don’t post any opinions about any specific entry. Such posts will be promptly deleted. Thread will be cleaned up occasionally for readability.

This is my 60L Daisy's Ricefish Tank. It was set up on the 27th Oct 2024. I feed once a day with flake and an occasional algae wafer which all inhabitants eat. 10L Water changes are done on a weekly basis. 3-5ml of API Leaf Zone is also dosed on a weekly basis. This tank is still in its grow-out phase. I'm attempting to create a dense and bushy planted area at the back with a selection of Stems and Vallisneria. Overall since setup, the only issues have been some algae on the Bolbitis and that's it really.

We have one entry. But we can't have a TOTM contest with just one entry.
There are only 5 days in which you can enter your 16 gallon or smaller tank in the contest. So take a pic of your tank and enter soon.
Remember, it's not just about trying to win, it's about showing members your tank so perhaps some members might get ideas for their own tanks.

Hello!
My aquarium details:
I have a 4 years old freshwater aquarium, which brand and model is Eheim Aquastar 54 litre LED. I've upgraded the filter to an oversized EHEIM biopower 160 litre filter with mechanical filter media, Eheim Substrat Pro and Seachem Purigen (50 ml) in it, finished with a surface flow pipe for a smooth natural like water exit. Light is Eheim classicLED Daylight 7,7 W with 7-8h light per day and Eheim thermocontrol 50 W heater is at 24 Celsius. I'm loving the Purigen effect on the water clarity. I added it just recently after the sunken wood started colouring water.

Water treatment:
Tetra AquaSafe 5ml/10 litres and fertilizers are Tropica Premium Nutrition 2ml (1 pump) /50 litres 3 times a week (every other day) and root tablets are JBL ProFlora Ferropol Root. No added CO2 and no added aeration since surface flow is active.

Water parameters:
Tested last Monday the 25th November at an aquarium service centre and store called Helsinki Aquarium centre (Helsinki Akvaariokeskus).
pH 7.1
GHd 4
KHd 3
NO2 0
NO3 15

Plants:
From the left, Tiger Lotus, Cryptocoryne, Leopard Vallisneria, Amazon sword plant and 2 moss balls in the shadow at the right.

Animals:
About 15 green neon tetras, 5 Macrotocinclus affinis (Otos), a few bumblebee snails and 1 Amano shrimp.

Routines:
Daily monitoring the status of the aquarium and feeding tetras twice a day with flake food and otos with a jelly which is mimicking the idea of Repashy Soilent Green, which is unavailable in Finland. Currently, weekly 20-30% water changes by hoovering the bottom of the tank which removes leftover fish foods and debris. I also clean the filter media in the removed aquarium water in order to preserve the beneficial bacteria and scrub the front glass, leaving other glasses to grow surface film for Otos. (I like to watch my fish in action daily and especially when the green neon tetras shoal a circle in the tank, but when close enough to get a good video they may not do it.)
