My first ever betta fish, Squishy has never seen a female one in the whole course of his life. I decided to put a female in a breeding trap attatched to my 10gallon. Not to try and breed them, just to see his reaction.
I'd have to say it was pretty impressive, he flared for about 5 minutes straight. I took the little female out and put her back with her tank mate Frog the african dwarf frog.
Later on that night I came in to my room to feed my 8 bettas, and Squishy had built a bubble nest almost half the size of the surface of my 10 gallon. He usually makes little but tall nests, but this one was impressive. I wish he was a cat because I wanted to pickhim up and hug him it was adorable.
