We were a little dissapointed at our first batch of Endler fry (got a pair from a member on this forum ) as only six seemed to be left from about a dozen. We couldn't really work out where the others went as online advice suggested that they don't really eat their young.
Saw that "mum" was ready to burst over the last couple of days, so we took everyone out of our fry tank (15L) except her and six three week old fry.
Woke up this morning and she was in the process of shooting the fry out.. .
I set off for work, only to be phoned by my wife who was panicking as she watched the mother start snacking on the fry.
She got mum out and put her back in the 140L............but I am surprised that she had started eating the young.
She was well fed.
Do you think it could have been that she was worried about overcrowding?
