emporer280 or emporer400

I currently have a aquatech 30-60 on the 29 gallon and I'm looking to upgrade. I would use the 280 however the cut-out in my hood will be to large and I'm scared my loaches will jump out. The 400 will fit the opening perfectly but will it be too much flow? It's made for up to 80 gallons. I'd really like to use the bigger filter because I over filtered my 10 gal with a penguin 125 bio-wheel and it does really well.

I would go with the 400. You can always adjust the flow rate if needed.

Thanks thats what I'll do I did'nt know for sure whether or not it had an adjustable flow rate.

I use a 400 on a planted 29 and it does great at full flow.
