Emperor 400 Question

Just got an Emperor 400 bio wheel. My question is about the extra medi cartridges that are included for extra media. What type of media can go in there. Is it for charcol or a bio sponge for a ceramic type media?

I put "Diamond Blend" zeolite and carbon mix, its made by MarineLand. It works great and it's only $7 at bigalsonline for a big container. I change mine every 3-4 months. After the chemical filtration of the zeolite and carbon wears off after 3-4 weeks...beneficial bacteria will build up on the used up rocks.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't sure if took a sponge of some sort or charcol.

I stuffed one with floss, the bulk stuff from the Walmart fabric department. It's surprising how much junk gets through the factory pads. The floss really polished the water.

The other one I hollowed out so that a packet of Purigen would fit inside.

I had toyed with the idea of putting something different in each one. This is the first bio wheel that I've had so its all new to me.
