Help needed
lost this fish sadly and 4 others have same issue, started like that and got worse.
I treated with Esha 2000 for 6 days as told it was bacterial infection. I'am worried as just cant shift it. Water is ammonia 0 , nitrite 0 and Nitrate 40. did 75 % water change after meds. plan to leave 5-7 days after meds as suggested. so what would u do next plz (have clowns so meds must be loach safe).
UPDATE: just lost another fish 3 days after last one , same issue and approx same position on fish.
Tank size: 7ft x 2 x 2 (800 L)
pH: 7.6
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 40
kH: 14
gH: high
tank temp: 25c
tanks been running for 18mths with little issues. (have kept fish for years)
tanks has 2 big filters fx6 and jbl profi 1901e and good water movement.
Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):
fish start by getting marks as per picture , bacterial infection ? , these get worse over around 5-7 days then they
hide away. they then pass away sadly. marks are either by gills area ish or on mouth but generally by gills.
for first 3-4 days fish acts normally.
Volume and Frequency of water changes: 800 L WC 50% around 10 days
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: ehsa was added as above, algrgrog and pro substrate
Tank inhabitants: American cichlids
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): none
Exposure to chemicals: unlikely
