Emergency!! Fish food dumped into aquarium. Please Help!

Okay, so you need to let us know what fish you have, how many.

then you need to start prepping the water to add back to the tank, make sure it’s treated for chlorine and chloramines with the conditioner, and temperature is as close as possible to what is left in the tank.
I will start preparing water. I have 1 platy 2 cherry barbs, 1 zebra danio, 1 tetra and 3 kuhli loaches, otos, vampire shrimp plus 4 amano shrimp

Move the gravel away from the front of the tank so the glass base is exposed ( you want about a two inch channel right across the front of the tank ) turn down the filter flow so that the food can settle, it will make its way to the channel where you can syphon it out ( don't turn the filters off tho )
i have sand does that make a diffrence

It makes a difference in that most of the food should settle on top of the substrate instead of inside it, it will make cleanup easier.

Once you have your water ready, you’re going to want to add it back relatively slowly. Shrimp don’t often do well with big swings in water parameters, same with otos. Slow but steady, that should give you the best chance here...

thank you so much will do

Once you have the tank filled up, make sure you have the filter running to pick up and food floating in the water column.

this would be a good time to double check the filter has been off so it’s not running dry... that will burn out the filter.

Then let the tank run over night, check it tomorrow, gravel vac again, but get your siphon started, and keep your fingers on the tube, you can start and stop the flow by pinching the tube, allowing you to target the areas that need to be cleaned of excess food, without draining too much water.

then I would pick up a bacteria supplement and dose as necessary.

after that, make sure you keep on top of water testing for the next few days, and water change as needed.
