This mine, and her first litter of ratlettes and as of this morning she blew up like a ballon and you can FEEL all the little babies (there are tons) in her belly. :shout:

God, I feel like I'm the mom I'm so worried.
Anyways, are there any last minute things I should do?

Edit: We now have pictures!

Whatcha doing? Those are my babies!

Alright, they're fine, time to EAT!

Second thoughts:

At this point and time she's in her 27 gallon aquarium with fresh water and plenty of rat food and lab blocks. There is a plastic box filled with shredded paper towels incase she doesnt want to use her wooden house that has a fleece bed under it. Although she seems pretty happy with the latter :good: . There are also some shredded peices of paper towel by her house incase she gets the need to nest.

As she had them yet.

Not yet... I just want to know if I should do anything last minute.

Best thing is just to leave her in peace and quite, that what i did with my rabbits when they had babies.

This wasn't an accidental mating, which makes me wonder why you didn't look into this and seek expert advice beforehand?

Please, in future, if you're considering breeding, do it properly with two well bred rats with whom you have checked the lineage, and do so with the support and advice of a reputable breeder as a mentor. :-(

Kathy:

I'll just ignore what you said till my anxiety comes down or I might be rude....

ALSO:
I tried to put my hand in to fix something in the cage and she nipped it, not biting as in draw blood she just put her mouth on it. I suppose she's a bit skittish right now.

Thats what i was afraid of, she will be in pain and she won't be her normal self bless her.

Mommy rats can get protective, I've been bitten by a mom even though her babies weren't even with her. Just make sure her house she's in now isn't too tall(you said she needs a ladder for it) for babies to fall out of and get jured.

Does will often bite close to labour (and afterwards), you need to leave her alone. If you try and handle her now, you will stress her out, which will cause her to delay labour, endagering her health. If she takes too long having the babies, or stops labour, you need to get her to a vet immediately.

I'll accept that you're too worried to accept any decent advice at the moment, but please believe me when I say the advice above was for the good of the rats, not for any other reason.

i think it is more of the case of double checking what she already knows, you always need reassurance at times like this.

You really need to give her space to get on with it, keep your hands away from the tank as she may take your scent as a predator and do the worst to her babies, only check on her from time to time, if no progress you could always phone the vets they will be more than happy to give you advice :good:
