So i picked up a little emerald green cory that was on sale for 99 cents. So when i brought it home i threw in an algae wafer for my gold nugget pleco and my new lil cory starts digging a hole in the gravel and hoards all the food he can find so he can save it for later. im guessing that he was underfed at the store and is all sketchy now about finding food. have you ever seen this happen?

I have one. I can tell you they get underfed at the store, but it isn't a problem as long as you feed him well. I know I have one because it was given to me, but whats up with the lone tetras?

You really need to do is get more of this cory if you have the room in your tank. They need to be in groups and if its a Brochis Splendon (usually called "Emerald Green Cory") they can be very shy. I havent heard of a cory digging a hole to hide food, thats a new one for me

Is this what you got?

You can see the 2 bigger ones are Brochis Splendons and the small one is a Bronze C. aeneus.
