I still use the old 300 but with none of the original equipment and missing its center brace, i think the glass is the one thing that isn't of poor quality.
Well Juwel emailed me back again through the night Im on a roll with replies from them...
I asked them was the brace needed and what would happen without it? and they replied:
"All JUWEL Aquariums fit to the German Norm DIN 32622 (Aquariums made of glass).
Without the strut the Aquarium will not fit to this norm, while the glass will be bowing to much, but will not crack.
However we recommend to glue a strut again.
We hope to have been of service to you and remain with"
So maybe not the disaster I thought if a brace snaps or comes loose? Hopefully Id always have time to refit it or order a new one to put back on?
