Ellen's freakishly deformed face

I talked about this a bit in another thread, but Ellen is just having all sorts of problems lately... on top of being constipated/eggbound/obese, she's transforming into a gargoyle. I tried to get some pictures, but they all came out pretty crappy, so I made an illustration of what I'm talking about... it's like her top lip is shrinking back into her face or something, and she swims around with her mouth open all the time now. I have no idea what's going on... all I know is it doesn't look like lip rot. I'm at a loss
Any ideas?

Aw, she's getting a puggy face. I'm as lost as you, it's an interesting case, but i'm of no help. Sorry.

Maybe because she is constipated, egg bound and grownig so large, her growth in body size has started to move her bottum lip upwards over her top lip. U can see in the photo how big she is around her stomach. I dont know of anything to stop constipation in fish, sorry. Goodluck.

Nah, I don't think it has anything to do with her size... it has been a gradual process, and I noticed it starting long before she got as fat as she is

Maybe she has that lock-jaw. Where she can't close her mouth and her head/face is conforming to accomodate it?

Defrosted shelled frozen peas are good for constipated fish. Dunno if bettas are allowed them though.

Hmm... never heard of that in fish, but I suppose it could be? If something like that is wrong with her top lip and her body has started to re-absorb it, that would certainly explain why it just looks like it's magically shrinking...
